Mr. Jean-Pierre Monet is a Technical Specialist at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in the Maternal and Newborn Health team of the Technical Division, based at UNFPA Headquarters. He supports countries to improve the availability and quality of maternal and newborn health services and to strengthen the measurement and monitoring of reproductive, maternal and newborn health. He has 15 years of professional experience in public health, working in international organizations, NGOs, and consulting in countries in Africa, Brazil and India.

Jean-Pierre Monet is a Doctoral Candidate at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) focusing on measuring the quality of Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC) services in Senegal and he has a Master of Public Health from Columbia University. He serves in multiple global maternal and newborn health technical working groups and initiatives, including the EPMM/ENAP Country Implementation and Measurement groups, the Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (MPDSR) Technical Working Group, the EmOC Framework revision and the Mother and Newborn Information for Tracking Outcomes and Results (MoNITOR) Technical Advisory Group.
