Dr. Allisyn Moran

Dr. Allisyn Moran leads the maternal health team in the Department of Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health and Ageing at the World Health Organization (WHO). She has over 25 years of experience in research, programmatic implementation, monitoring and evaluation of maternal, newborn and child health programs and initiatives. As head of the maternal health team, she provides technical leadership, coordination and managerial support for maternal health strategies and activities, including mentorship and fundraising. She also leads maternal and newborn measurement and monitoring for the Department. Prior to joining WHO in 2017, she worked with the United States Agency for International Development Bureau for Global Health in Washington and in Nigeria. She has also worked with numerous other organizations such as Save the Children, Jhpiego and icddr,b and as faculty at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Currently, she holds an honorary appointment at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Allisyn Moran has a Doctor of Philosophy and a Masters in Health Sciences from Johns Hopkins University, where she focused on improving women’s access to and use of health services in low- and middle-income countries. She has extensive field experience supporting countries in all regions worldwide, and over 80 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
