Empowering Urban Adolescent Mothers Using Digital Tools
- Dec 1, 2021 @ 8:00am
The Urban Health Community of Practice cordially invites you to a webinar on December 1 at 8 a.m. EST sharing the Kuboresha Afya Mitaani (KAM) project’s implementation research experiences in improving the health of adolescent mothers in two informal settlements in Nairobi, Kenya. The KAM Project will describe how they used digital tools like Promoting Mothers in Pregnancy through SMS (PROMPTS) to empower adolescent mothers with critical information about pregnancy and postpartum care and learned the importance of context-specific messaging adaptation to address knowledge gaps, social stigma, and fragmented support systems. They will also describe how they leveraged project insights to drive action at the county level, and what they have learned from the process that can be applied to similar urban settings globally.
